Emergency First Aid 

1 Day Course

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (QCF) qualification has been designed to provide candidates with the skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective basic life support and use an AED safely in emergency situations.



This course is for learners who wish to update or refresh their basic life support (BLS) skills, it also for those who have a duty of care such as health care professionals ie nurses and doctors.

The course can also be used as part of your continual professional development (CPD) programme.

The course will not only refresh your practical skills but will also update you on any resuscitation guideline changes within the previous twelve months.

  • Chain of survival

  • Assessing an incident

  • Casualty assessment

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty Recovery Position

  • CPR

  • AED safety considerations

  • Using an AED

  • Combining AED use with CPR

Qualification:

​The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (QCF) qualification is ofqual regulated and certified for one year.


We teach to the most current ​European Resuscitation Council guidelines, placing emphasis on both the practical and physiological areas of effective CPR.

Sports First Aid Training

The QA Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials (QCF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid to people they are caring for when dealing with an emergency.

Ideal for those who are able to access CQC (Care Quality Commission) funding, this regulated and nationally recognised qualification enables Learners to gain the skills and knowledge needed to administer safe, prompt, effective first aid in situations which can arise when providing care. We are able to conduct group training sessions at your venue or you.

 
Course programme:


During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, external bleeding, shock and minor injuries.

Emergency Basic Life Support

For those who want knowledge for that ‘worst case scenario’ our Paediatric/child Basic Life Support is perfect. Focusing on the absolute essentials.

BLS First Aid Course

The QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (QCF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a responsibility to provide first aid in outdoor and activity based environments. 

Successful candidates will gain the knowledge and skills needed to treat a range of conditions that could occur during any form of activity, from life threatening illnesses to minor injuries. 


We are able to conduct group training sessions at your venue or you may wish to join one of our open public courses of which we run various dates throughout the year, see details to the right.

This interactive two day course is delivered using small group scenarios, in a friendly environment. It is designed for all those in need of activity first aid training and addresses the practical aspects of managing medical emergencies, whilst bringing delegates up-to-date with the latest standards and procedures.

Award in Management of Anaphylaxis (QCF) 

This qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, to provide care and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency. 

 

Successful candidates will be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, and will be equipped with the vital skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective treatment. 

 

The course can also be used as part of your continual professional development (CPD) programme.

This course is great for all health care professionals and can be adapted to meet you're training needs.

Control and Administration of Medication in Schools

 

 

 

Course Overview:

This course is designed to ensure that any employee who may administer medication, do so with regard to safe practice and in accordance with The Department for Education & Skills / Department of Health Guidance.

Who needs this qualification?

This qualification is specifically targeted at employees working in schools and colleges in the public and private sectors. Unlike many of the courses offered by our competitors this course is specific to the Education Sector and highlights issues such as; the importance of documentation, consent, parental responsibilities, such as handing medication over to the appropriate member of staff and to administer medication themselves if possible.

Adequately trained staff will reduce the risk of litigation, as well as ensuring the health and safety of pupils/students, by acting in accordance with the guidelines set by The Department for Education & Skills and The Department of Health.

 Medication Administration

Course Programme:

A practical face-to-face workshop teaching how to manage and treat a seizure with rescue medicines such as buccal midazolam. Learners have their competence individually assessed by an experienced Paramedic, pharmacists or nurse. Theory is studied using video, case studies, discussion and a comprehensive workbook provided on the day.

2-3 hour workshop
