Paediatric First Aid Annual Refresher Qualification

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework states that early years providers should consider whether paediatric first aiders need to undertake annual refresher training to maintain basic key skills and keep up to date with any changes to paediatric first aid procedures.

 

The Paediatric First Aid Annual Refresher (QAR) qualification has been specifically designed to allow qualified paediatric first aiders to refresh their knowledge and practise essential paediatric first aid skills every year until requalification training is required.

Successful candidates will leave the course with a renewed confidence having practised essential paediatric first aid procedures, such as performing CPR, dealing with a choking casualty and much more. 


Course programme:

During this 3 hour course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, seizures, external bleeding and more.



Programme includes:
 

  • Aim and responsibilities of the first aider         

  • Priorities of treatment

  • Primary and secondary assessment

  • Child/baby CPR

  • Airway obstruction

  • Wounds and bleeding  

  • Burns

  • Shock

                                           

Qualifications: 

Certificate of attendance.

Open Public course £70pp

In house staff training at your venue £475 group rate at your venue (max 12 people)
