Service Description

Administering Buccal Midazilam During a Seizure; 2-3 Hours Course Programme: A practical face-to-face workshop teaching how to manage and treat a seizure with rescue medicines such as buccal midazolam. Learners have their competence individually assessed by an experienced Paramedic, pharmacists or nurse. Theory is studied using video, case studies, discussion and a comprehensive workbook provided on the day. Duration: 2-3 hour workshop Aimed at: Staff in all health and social care settings, transport staff and schools. Mapping: Delivers the learning outcomes specified by the Joint Epilepsy Council of the UK and Ireland Learning Outcomes What is medication Why people take medication Control and management of medication Support pupils with medication Staff indemnity Benefits and Risk The Community Team How medication works Controlled medications Disposal of Medications Safe storage of medicines, The rights of the individual, Abbreviations used in medication, Routes of administering, Errors in administering, Legal requirements and compliance aids. The Course is 3 Hours duration and will be delivered at your own premises or a convenient off-site location. ​ Delegates will receive a Handout Pack and Course Outline for use on the day. Delegates will also receive a Certificate of Attendance within a week of the event. All courses are fully evaluated using our own documentation, but in-house evaluation methods can be used if preferred. ​ Department for Education advice on health and safety for schools Statutory guidance about the support that pupils with medical conditions should receive at school.

Deductible booking fee before 21 days of £5pp from total refund. Transferring of training date/Name between 14 -8 days £10pp admin fee.
