About The Event

Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (QCF) qualification has been designed to provide candidates with the skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective basic life support and use an AED safely in emergency situations.

This course is for learners who wish to update or refresh their basic life support (BLS) skills, it also for those who have a duty of care such as health care professionals ie nurses and doctors.

The course can also be used as part of your continual professional development (CPD) programme.

The course will not only refresh your practical skills but will also update you on any resuscitation guideline changes within the previous twelve months.

  • Assessing an incident
  • Casualty assessment
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty Recovery Position
  • CPR
  • AED safety considerations
  • Using an AED
  • Combining AED use with CPR 
  • Using an AED on a child
  • Procedures for when Emergency Services arrive
