Forestry First Aid (+F) and  Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work qualification

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and forestry First Aid

This one day course and qualification is for people who hold or intend to complete an Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification who may deal with special hazards in an emergency situation within a forestry/agricultural context. 

 

Note: Those working in core operations on Forestry Commission land will require an appropriate and valid Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification in combination with this QA Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF) qualification. 


1st Part - Level 3 Emergency First Aid

Programme:

 

  • The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider

  • Assessing an incident

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty

  • CPR and AED Training

  • Recovery Position

  • Choking

  • Seizures

  • Shock

  • Wounds and Catastrophic bleeding

  • Major and Minor injuries

  • Cuts, grazes and bruises

  • Minor burns and scalds

  • Anaphylaxis  

                                           
 

 

Course Fees:

One day Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work, Plus Forestry First Aid

In house staff training:

  • 0 - 6 Staff   £775

  • 7 - 12 Staff £1075

2nd Part - Forestry First Aid 

programme:

  • Know how to manage a casualty who is experiencing the effects of extreme cold and extreme heat.

  • Be able to manage catastrophic bleeding. 

  • How to use Tourniquet's

  • Know how to manage a casualty with crush injuries. 

  • Know how to manage a casualty with Lyme disease.
