Service Description

The QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (QCF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a responsibility to provide first aid in outdoor and activity-based environments.  Successful candidates will gain the knowledge and skills needed to treat a range of conditions that could occur during any form of activity, from life-threatening illnesses to minor injuries.  We are able to conduct group training sessions at your venue or you may wish to join one of our open public courses of which we run various dates throughout the year, see details to the right. Course programme: This interactive two-day course is delivered using small group scenarios, in a friendly environment. It is designed for all those in need of activity first aid training and addresses the practical aspects of managing medical emergencies, whilst bringing delegates up-to-date with the latest standards and procedures. Programme includes: The role and responsibilities of a first aider Assessing an incident Managing an unresponsive casualty CPR and AED use Recovery Position Heart Attack Stroke Head, neck and back injuries Chest and abdominal injuries Fractures External bleeding Shock Burns and scalds Choking Poisoning Anaphylaxis Asthma Diabetes Epilepsy and seizures Treatment for hot and cold temperatures Minor injuries Sprains, strains and dislocations Eye injuries                                             Qualifications: Ofqual Accreditation Level 2 Award in Activity first aid (3 years)  We are a Qualsafe Training Centre which means our courses are approved and recognised by Ofqual Accreditation. 


Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or course date transfers are not permitted. If you are unable to attend the course yourself, you may change the name of the delegate attending the course free of charge. You must inform the office to any change of delegates prior to the start of the course. If you are ill on the day of the course you must notify us in writing as soon as possible via email addressed to admin@sussesfirstaidcourses.co.uk. A transfer will only be offered if a valid doctor’s note is produced. Late arrival or missed session: If you arrive late for a course, or are absent from any session, we reserve the right to refuse to accept you for training if we feel you will gain insufficient knowledge or skill in the time remaining. In all such cases, the full course fee remains payable. To conform with Health & Safety Executive requirements for Statutory Certificates, attendance at all sessions is mandatory. In the event of non-attendance full fee is still due and is non-refundable. Cancellation by Sussex First Aid Courses: Sussex First Aid Courses reserves the right to cancel any course if there are insufficient numbers to run a viable course. In such circumstances, you will be given as much notice as possible and the offer of a free transfer to another course date, or a full refund of fees paid.
