Level 1 Award in Introduction to Mental Health in the Workplace
The Qualsafe Level 1 Award in Introduction to Mental Health in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification for people who wish to raise their awareness of mental health and improve their mindfulness in work and everyday life. The qualification would be suitable for an individual or a group of up to 25 colleagues within a business.
Mental health first aid training is not designed to teach you how to be a therapist, but it will teach you to recognise the most common issues people face with mental ill health and teach you how to listen, reassure and actively support those who are struggling.

A mix of presentation, discussions, self-reflection and group activities.
Recognise signs and symptoms of many common mental health issues
Direct anyone with potential mental ill health to appropriate and reliable support, both within the workplace and externally
Actively listen and feel confident having open conversations about mental health with those who may be suffering
Be a confident mental health advocate within the workplace
An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix

This a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions in the workplace and how best to offer support and guidance to colleagues.
A maximum of 25 learners can be accommodated on these courses and all candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age to qualify.

This qualification raises learners’ awareness of mental health, develops an understanding on how to support, reassure and signpost fellow colleagues to professional support.
