The i-gel is a truly unique airway device and represents the culmination of years of extensive research and development. The shape, softness and contours accurately mirror the perilaryngeal anatomy to create the perfect fit. This innovative concept means that no cuff inflation required.
Made from a medical grade thermoplastic elastomer, I-Gel has been designed to create a non-inflatable, anatomical seal of the pharyngeal, laryngeal and perilaryngeal structures whilst avoiding compression trauma. The device has an integral bite block and non-inflatable cuff. It has a 15mm connector and a gastric channel.
The i-gel works in harmony with the patient's anatomy so that compression and displacement trauma are significantly reduced or eliminated.
